The Women’s Health and Family Planning Association of Texas (WHFPT) has advocated for quality reproductive health care in Texas since 1977. Join us as we continue to seek increased funding for family planning services, reduce teen pregnancy, and develop educational materials.

Membership benefits

Membership categories
Provider Members: based on budget size
This category of membership includes state and/or fully funded family planning providers who offer reproductive health care to the general public.
Associate Members: $500
This membership status is available to organizations that provide women’s health care services, other than family planning, and to businesses that provide services and products to women’s health and/or family planning agencies.
Professionals: $150
Membership is available to individuals who are working, volunteering, or interested in the women’s health and family planning industry.
Students: $35
Membership is available to full-time students who are actively involved in the pursuit of hight education and support the mission, values, and goals of WHFPT.
Internships
WHFPT has internships available for interested students during all semesters and quarters of the school year – including the summer. We are eager to offer bright, enthusiastic students an experience that exposes them to work with women’s rights, public affairs, legislative advocacy, community education, and non-profit management.
Internships are available in specific areas. Some examples include:
- Legislative Affairs (during the legislative session)
- Public Policy Evaluation and Research
- Public Affairs and Communications
- Intergovernmental Relations
- Non-Profit Management
And some examples of specific topics are:
- Sexuality Education
- Birth Control/Emergency Contraception
- Teen Pregnancy
- State/National Family Planning Funding
